BANANAS

2025, Shortfilm, 06.17 min

This is not a film about bananas. The world's first fruit, which some researchers claim appeared 10,000 years ago. Or maybe it is. But it is also a story about growing up, dry humor, exploitation, pop culture, and coups d'état. A collage-like reflection in essay form, where the lines between the absurd and the profound are constantly blurred.

PEEL

BANANAS is a part of the trilogy PEEL, a series of three essayistic short films about apples, potatoes and bananas. The films are reflections on human behavior, which playfully explore the symbolic and cultural associations associated with the crops. Fruit is often used as an image of the transience of life, which has been reflected in art and culture throughout the ages. The films in PEEL are presented in chronological order based on the associations often attached to them.
